The Vital Act of Choice
Everything you are is the result of the choices you’ve made. A person’s decisions mark them as either wise or foolish. The wise know they must give account for their deeds, while the fool does not. In the Bible, “fool” does not mean someone with a lack of intelligence, but rather someone who acts without regard for consequences.
In Scripture, a wise man is not necessarily educated or of high cultural standing, though he may be. He is someone who acts with an awareness of outcomes, asking himself, “What will be the result?” and then choosing actions that lead to consequences he won’t be ashamed or afraid of in the future. This is how God distinguishes wisdom from foolishness.
A person who never considers life beyond their final heartbeat is, in God’s eyes, a fool. Hell is filled with fools, while heaven is filled with the wise. No fool will enter heaven, and no wise man will be found in hell. According to God’s definition, a fool acts without considering consequences or eternity, and such a person will not be in heaven. Heaven is reserved for those who live with the opposite mindset.
Are you thinking about Judgment Day, the presence of God, or the Great White Throne Judgment? If not, God considers you a fool. If you’re alive and reading this, understand that you can change now—through the power, grace, and mercy of your loving Father in heaven.
