The Law of Consequence
I am currently reading A. W. Tozers The Dangers of a Shallow Faith. The following is simply excerpts from it that really stuck with me.
The human mind is always considering something; the path of least resistance is to consider other people's ways instead of our own. The Pharisees in the Bible were a class of people who knew the sins of everyone but themselves. The word of God asks us to consider our ways-look closely at them.
What we are now will determine our destiny then-heaven or hell. I will add a saying I heard recently that says the same thing in a different way. "If you live a Christian life, you will die a Christian death. If you live a worldly life, you will die a worldly death.
The act of accepting Christ, if it is a true act, has an instant effect upon our entire moral life, and it changes a man. When God saves a man, he saves him from his sin. He came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
God only saves sinners who know and admit they are sinners; but he saves sinners and turns them from being sinners to being good men and full of the Holy Spirit.
No man lives unto himself. Either directly or indirectly, you are deeply influencing somebody else. If you are a carelessly living Christian, there may be persons who will use your careless life as an excuse for theirs.
